I have been posting quite a few frugal homemade cleaner ideas lately in our Frugal Living section as well as on the Money Saving Queen YouTube account. Last week, I had quite a few requests for homemade deodorant. That's right, homemade stink remover.
While I'm still a fan of store bought deodorant, I do love money saving aspect of this as well as the fact that I can make it in about 10 seconds which means if I run out of deodorant, I always have a back up plan. Try it out and see what you think!
{Homemade Deodorant}
1/4 Cup Baking Soda
1/4 Cup Cornstarch (You can use Arrowroot Powder too)
4 TBS Coconut Oil
10-15 drops of Essential Oils (optional)
Directions: Mix together the dry ingredients. Melt the coconut oil for just a bit in the microwave in order to turn it into a liquid. Stir the oil in with the dry ingredients, you can add the essential oils during this step as well. Then, pour it into a jar. I've heard it is best to put it into a jar with a lid so it keeps longer. This is a cream deodorant, so rub it on your fingers, rub them together then put it under your arms.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
