Here’s a list of a dozen picks for casual eats near the Uptown parade routes and a few for Endymion from New Orleans food writer Ian McNulty

Bienvenue Bar & Grill
312 St. Charles Ave., 504-587-7133
The former FredRick’s deli has been redone with some updates to the comfort food menu and a much expanded array of drinks for the route.

Capdeville
520 Capdeville St., New Orleans, 504-371-5161
Tucked away on a CBD side street, this gastro pub is well placed for burgers, mac and cheese and a great bar near the route.

Del Fuego Taqueria
4518 Magazine St., New Orleans 504-309-5797
Cool your heels with some tostada-sized chips (made in house) and a few of the half-dozen salsas. The bar has an extensive selection of tequila.

Felipe's Taqueria
411 N. Carrollton Ave., 504-288-8226; 6215 S. Miro St., New Orleans, 504-309-2776; 301 N. Peters St., New Orleans, 504-267-4406
The three locations of this local taqueria are well suited to post-parade meals, and the one in Mid-City is directly on the Endymion route.

Frankie & Johnny’s
321 Arabella St., New Orleans, 504-243-1234
This Uptown classic fills an essential role as the boiled seafood spot just off the parade route. There’s also an oyster bar worked into the corner of the long main bar.

Frey Smoked Meat Co.
4141 Bienville St., 504-488-7427
Endymion is a long day, and this Mid-City barbecue spot and bar is well situated for sustenance that fits the tailgating atmosphere all around it.

Gracious Bakery + Cafe

The longtime home of the Grocery has become a new outpost of local Gracious Bakery + Café, with sandwiches on house-made bread, sweet and savory bakery items and libations.

La Casita
634 Julia St., 504-218-8043
A tiny taqueria just off the downtown stretch of St. Charles Avenue, La Casita goes into Carnival mode for the nearby parades with quick tacos and good margaritas.

Magasin Café

Traditional Vietnamese flavors get a dose of modern style at this noodle house for quick spring rolls, banh mi and condensed milk ice coffee near the Napoleon Avenue stretch of the route.

ManhattanJack

For the early shift – or a reward for patient kids – breakfast sandwiches, bagels, sweets, strong coffee and king cake make this bakery and café a good call en route to the route.

New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co.
4141 St. Charles Ave., 504-247-9753
Even at the height of the parades, this restaurant does an exceptionally good job of managing the crowd and serving its menu of burgers and thin-cut catfish, with a beignet shop in the back.

Pizza Domenica
4933 Magazine St., 504-301-4978
The Uptown pizzeria from chefs Alon Shaya and John Besh fires off first-class pies from its wood-burning oven and lays out a sleek bar with a good wine and beer selection.
