Deputies in Lafourche Parish are searching for a man wanted for an early morning shooting that left another man dead in Thibodaux Monday.
According to Sheriff Craig Webre, detectives are searching for 37-year-old Brhian Thomas. Thomas is wanted for second degree murder in the shooting death of 29-year-old Deeric Raymond.
According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting around 1:25 a.m. near the Solar Trailer Park in Thibodaux. Deputies found Raymond sitting in a car with a gunshot wound to the right side of his torso.
Webre said Raymond was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Detectives learned Thomas and another man got into a fight when Raymond attempted to break up the fight. After the two were separated, Thomas pulled out a handgun and fired multiples, one of which struck Raymond. Thomas fled the scene and investigators have not been able to contact him.
