NEW ORLEANS - Police arrested a suspect for the shooting of a 14-year-old boy outside of a Central City barbershop Wednesday.
Richard Franklin was booked on a attempted second-degree murder charge for the shooting, according to police.
The boy was shot near the intersection of Simon Bolivar Ave and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 1 p.m., said police.
Jeb Tate from EMS said the boy was shot in the neck. He was transported to the Trauma Unit at LSU Public Health Hospital.
When police arrived on the scene, Valencia said, officers found the boy lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. He is listed in stable condition.
