ST. GABRIEL, La. (AP) — Louisiana authorities are looking for a female inmate who escaped Tuesday from the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women.
Authorities say 33-year-old Keana Barnes escaped about 1 a.m. Tuesday. She was serving a 25-year sentence for manslaughter. Barnes came into custody in May of 2004.
Corrections officials say the circumstances surrounding the escape are still under investigation.
Barnes is 5-foot-4 and weighs 140 pounds. She has dark brown eyes and brown hair. She is from the New Orleans area.
