JEFFERSON, La. – Two Jefferson Parish correctional officers were arrested in separate incidents, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Col. John Fortunato.
One officer was arrested for possession of marijuana and another was arrested for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home.
Correctional officer Donald Isom, 19, of New Orleans, was arrested by the New Orleans Police Department on Nov. 10, after he was stopped for a traffic violation, said Fortunato. He was booked with possession of marijuana and terminated as a correctional officer on Tuesday, according to Fortunato. Isom was an officer for less than a year.
In another incident, correctional officer Joshua Williams, 21, of Metairie, was arrested by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, after he allegedly entered the home of his ex-girlfriend while she was home without her permission. Williams was hired in June 2009. “The fate of Williams' employment with the JPSO remains uncertain as this investigation continues,” said Fortunato.
