HAHNVILLE, La. (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a pickup truck on a highway in St. Charles Parish.
The Louisiana State Police said 46-year-old Wadie Ray Willis, of Bakersville, N.C., was struck while walking in an eastbound lane of Interstate 90 early Saturday morning.
Willis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a 32-year-old Lafayette man whose vehicle struck Willis submitted to a chemical test, but he didn't appear to be impaired. Excessive speed wasn't considered a factor in the crash, either.
