Aerial spraying for mosquitoes scheduled in Jefferson Parish

JEFFERSON, La -- Aerial mosquito spraying is scheduled to take place Thursday, August 2 from 8:45 to 10:45 p.m. on east and west banks of Jefferson Parish. The spraying is in response to elevated mosquito counts in the area.  

West Bank

  • Crown Point, all the developed areas and extending into the wooded area and generally bounded by Barataria Boulevard on the north, Jean Lafitte boulevard on the south, Leo Kerner Parkway on the west, and Sharpe Road on the east.
  • Lafitte/Barataria, in the area bounded by the Fleming Curve near Palmetto Street on the north, the end of Jean Lafitte Boulevard near Kenal Road/Orange Avenue on the south, and bordered by marsh on the east and west sides.
  • Waggaman, in the area bounded by the Mississippi River on the north, Nicolle boulevard on the south, Pat Drive on the east and Willswood Lane on the west.

East Bank

  • Metairie, in the area bounded by Lake Pontchartrain on the north, Veterans Memorial boulevard on the south, Causeway Boulevard on the east and David Drive on the west.
  • Jefferson, in the area bounded by Airline Drive on the north, the Mississippi River on the south, the Orleans/Jefferson Parish line on the east and Clearview Parkway on the west.
  • Harahan/River Ridge/Jenner, in the area bounded by Airline Drive on the north, the Mississippi River on the south, Clearview Parkway on the east and Williams Boulevard on the west.
  • Jenner, in the area bounded by Lake Pontchartrain on the north, the Louis Armstrong International Airport on the south, Williams Boulevard on the east and the St. Charles/Jefferson Parish line on the west.
