NEW ORLEANS -- An Orleans Parish assistant district attorney was arrested amid the Mardi Gras revelry early Wednesday morning.
The Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office that prosecutor Matthew Kirkham was arrested on municipal misdemeanors of being drunk in public and interfering with a police officer.
District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said he is taking the arrest very seriously.
Cannizzaro said he'll look into the circumstances before making a decision on Kirkham's job status.
