BATON ROUGE, La. -- The state legislative auditor has found problems with the way the Crescent City Connection division files damage claims for some of the ferries it operates.
According to the audit, back in 2010 four damage claims were submitted to the office of risk management, totaling more than $714,000.
But so far only about $266,000 has been paid out.
The audit found that both sides did not effectively communicate what claim forms needed to be used or kept the proper work invoices.
Ferry repairs began in some cases before a damage estimate could be completed.
