NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Bonnet Carre Spillway has been re-opened, and traffic is now flowing freely, following an early morning complete closure west-bound, at I-310, due to a jackknifed 18-wheeler.
It happened just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday near mile marker 216.
Louisiana State Police Trooper Melissa Matey says that as an 18-wheeler slowed down near an accident that occurred earlier Tuesday morning, the driver lost control of the truck causing it to jackknife.
Three other cars were involved in the accident that closed down the Spillway.
According to Trooper Matey, there are no major injuries, only a few minor injuries reported.
