Job cuts and changes at The Times-Picayune will garner more national attention Saturday, when the CBS Evening News broadcasts a report about the city's newspaper.

The story, by correspondent Mark Strassman, is scheduled to air on Saturday's broadcast, airing at 5:30 p.m. on WWL-TV.

"For a city that's suffered so much loss, from the 2005 hurricane to the 2010 oil spill, residents of New Orleans are bracing for another blow," reads promotional material from the network.  "Come September 30, New Orleans will be the largest American city without a daily newspaper."

The story will feature longtime photographer John McCusker, a T-P veteran who lost his job at the paper.
