Mike Freeman, an 'NFL Insider' for CBS Sports' web site, has a column out saying that league sources tell him that Saints owner Tom Benson is considering offering Sean Payton a contract that would make him the highest paid coach in the NFL.
Freeman says Benson is considering the move because Payton made the team a national contender and Super Bowl champion and because the team is struggling mightily without him.
