KENNER -- The I-10 Spillway is closed completely coming into Kenner and the New Orleans Metro Area due to a car fire.

Traffic Reporter Tamica Lee confirms that at about mile marker 215 on the Bonnet Carre Spillway, there is a vehicle on fire in the right lane that has caused a complete closure of the spillway bridge.

If you're commuting southbound on I-55 from LaPlace, you'll want to find an alternate route Monday morning.

Delays are currently back to I-55.

Airline Highway is the best alternate route for commuters at this time.

WWL-TV is following this closure closely and we'll have more details as soon as they become available.
