NEW ORLEANS -- Police released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Berhman Park in Algiers Friday.

The suspect, according to New Orleans police, is a black male, from 16-19 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium to athletic build and dark complexion. The suspect's left eye is smaller than his right eye. He was wearing a purple, short-sleeve shirt with gold writing, red underwear with gold writing, black basketball shorts and Nike slippers, NOPD said in a statement.

According to police, the 14-year-old girl was walking alone around 9:30 p.m. in Behrman Park, when the suspect grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.

The attack happened in the 1500 block of Florence Avenue, which is part of the park's walking trail.
