NEW ORLEANS -- The body of a man found floating in the water of the Orleans Avenue Canal, near the intersection of Robert E. Lee Bourlevard and Marconi Drive on Feb. 21, has been identified as Brian Aguilar, 18, a missing Kenner man last seen in City Park.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the body as Aguilar's Thursday.

He was last seen on Feb. 12 around 5 p.m., when he was with friends drinking and walking on a path along Wisner Boulevard, according to police. Aguilar became separated from his friends and was not seen again.

On Feb. 21, a jogger spotted a body in the canal and notified police.

The New Orleans Advocate reported the autopsy determined Aguilar drowned, according to the coroner's office, and his body showed no signs of foul play.
