NEW ORLEANS — The race for Orleans Parish coroner will go to a March 15 runoff after neither Dwight McKenna nor Jeffrey Rouse were able to grab 50 percent plus one Saturday.

McKenna earned 38,415 votes, or 48 percent of those cast in this Feb. 1 election. He’ll face Rouse, who earned the endorsement of outgoing coroner Frank Minyard, who finished the day with 32 percent.

Vincent Culotta Jr. bowed out with 20 percent.

Meanwhile, Arthur Morrell earned another term as the Orleans Parish Criminal Court clerk, easily outdistancing Robbie Keen 72 percent to 28.

It will be Morrell’s third term in the position.
