NEW ORLEANS - The cost of rebuilding and repairing Orleans schools is running higher than expected and the Master Plan for redoing them may have to be re-prioritized.
That news came out of an Orleans Parish School Board meeting being held Thursday.
Uptown Messenger live blogged the event and reported that the projects were already running about $8 million over budget and that another handful of schools were projecting $14 million or more over budget.
Among the items mentioned, board member Lourdes Moran cited that a new campus for Algiers' Alice Harte school was projecting $5 million over budget, not including any contingencies.
