NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans City Council has once again postponed a vote on a controversial ordinance putting new age restrictions on bars.

The council had planned to take up the issue at a meeting Thursday.

The measure would raise the minimum age to enter a bar from 18 to the legal drinking age of 21.

No word yet on when the council will take up the measure.
