NEW ORLEANS -- A multi-vehicle crash shut down Interstate-610 East for several hours, causing major delays, and a 28-year-old woman is in critical condition, according to New Orleans EMS.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation, the highway was closed at the I-10/I-610 Junction. Congestion reached as far as Causeway Boulevard. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m.
No word on injures related the incident. According to DOTD, the right lane of the highway was blocked because of a vehicle. The shutdown was caused by a wreck with an 18-wheeler and an overturned vehicle. The crash was cleared by 11 a.m.
