NEW ORLEANS -- Crews will permanently close lanes one and nine (the two outside lanes) on the Crescent City Connection toll plaza early Tuesday morning.
They will shut down the lanes at 5 a.m.
Drivers will find a red "x" lit on the canopy to alert them of the closures.
The change is part of the decommissioning of the old toll plaza, which will eventually include a new traffic configuration. The new configuration will include four travel lanes and today's closure is to help drivers get used to that change.
No word yet on when construction on the revised traffic lanes will begin.
