HAMMOND, La. -- Tangipahoa Parish deputies are investigating a murder that happened Monday in Hammond.
Around 5 p.m., Hammond firefighters responded to a house fire on North Baptist Road, just outside the city limits.
Firefighters found 62-year-old Charles Ockman inside and tied up.
“As the fire department was clearing the residence, they came across a 62-year-old white male inside the residence with his hands bound behind his back, and he was deceased,” said Dawn Panepinto, a spokeswoman for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are working the case as a homicide.
