MARRERO, La. -- Sheriff's deputies are investigating a murder in Marrero Saturday afternoon.
A man was shot in the 500 block of Meyers Blvd., shortly before 4 p.m., according to Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses told deputies they heard multiple gunshots in the area where the victim, later identified as Adam Johnson, 20, of Marrero, was discovered. He had been shot in the neck.
He was taken to the hospital where he died, Fortunato said.
