NEW ORLEANS -- First responders were called to the scene of a drowning and a near drowning in New Orleans on the Fourth of July. Both incidents happened at about 4 p.m.
The drowning happened at Lakeshore Drive at the Orleans Outfall Canal. The victim died in the hospital, according to officials.
The near drowning was at Bayou St. John by Orleans and Moss. That victim is still in the hospital in critical condition.
The two victims are reportedly men in their 20s.
The two incidents aren't related.
