NEW ORLEANS – A flyover of a marsh in eastern New Orleans by the New Orleans Fire Department showed no signs of hot spots, but rather scorched vegetation from a marsh fire that burned Tuesday.
The fire, which was in marsh near Paris and Old Gentilly roads, is believed to be extinguished, according to the NOFD.
The fire department released a series of photos from Wednesday’s flyover, showing a large swath burnt marsh.
Fire officials are continuing to monitor the area, and fire crews will check the marsh at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
