HARVEY, La. -- Jefferson parish investigators are searching for a man wanted for the murder of an aspiring rapper.

24-year-old Devin Bonilla is wanted in connection with the deadly shooting outside Edge Sports Bar on Lapalco Blvd. Saturday morning.

Bowie Richard, known on stage as Yung Kaptin, always knew how to put on a show. His family says music was his passion and that he died doing what he loved.

“He loved to perform, he loved to be on stage, he loved to touch people with his music,” said his wife Justine Richard.

Deputies say the aspiring rapper and songwriter had just finish performing at Edge Sports Bar Saturday night when he got into an argument.

After exchanging a few words, Richard went outside. He was talking to someone inside a parked car when, witnesses say, this man Devin Bonilla, 24, walked up and shot him in the head.

“A tiff, it wasn't even an argument and somebody took his life away for words,” said his wife Justine.

His family says the father of two is not one to start fights. In fact, one of the last Facebook posts he made before he died Read, “All I ask is no fighting please!!!! Let’s all have a good time.."

“It’s heartbreaking because the one person who wanted to stop the fighting and stop all this anger is the one that got taken away,” said Richard.

It is a tragedy that has left his 4-year old son and 2-year-old daughter without a father and now his grieving family wants his killer brought to justice.

“We need closure and whoever finds this guy, whether it's someone on the street or the police, we need to find him,” said Richard.

As the family tries to cope with the loss, they say they take comfort knowing he will give others the gift of life through his organ donations.

“He was so giving and so generous that even after he is gone is living on through so many other people,” said his wife.

Jefferson Parish deputies have an arrest warrant out for Bonilla and say he faces a 2nd degree murder charge once he is found. If you can help investigators find him, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
