WASHINGTON PARISH – State Fire Marshal officials say a Saturday morning fire in Bogalusa damaged six buildings causing more than $2 million in damages.

Louisiana State Fire Marshal Chief Butch Browning says the fire started just before 7 a.m. at an auto and  paint shop in the 200 block of Alabama Street.  When firefighters arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames.

Chief Browning says the fire moved quickly. Three other buildings were destroyed and two buildings suffered exterior damage.

Firefighters from several fire departments in the area responded to the fire.  No injuries have been reported.

Chief Browning says the State Fire Marshal will continue its investigation into the cause of the fire through Sunday.
