NEW ORLEANS -- Firefighters worked a three-alarm blaze Tuesday afternoon at a row of apartment buildings in New Orleans East.
The fire happened before 3:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Boeing, and it was under control by 4:15 p.m.
The main unit that caught fire was vacant, and it spread to two other nearby apartments. One was under renovation and was unoccupied, while the other had people inside. They were able to escape without injury.
Officials said the building collapsed within moments of firefighters arriving on the scene.
There aren't any reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
