NEW ORLEANS -- A former employee of the Orleans Parish Criminal Clerk's Office has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
According to prosecutors, 68-year-old Lear Enclarde accepted cash and gifts from an unlicensed bail bondsman in exchange for her help using the name of another, licensed bondsman and to forge his signature on official court documents.
Enclarde faces up to five years behind bars and a fine of $250,000.
She worked in the office from 1973 through 2010
Sentencing is set for Sept. 17.
