NEW ORLEANS -- A sign that warmer weather and festival season is around the corner is announcement of the French Quarter Festival lineup. This year's festival is the 30th anniversary of the festival.
Some of the notable acts and headliners announced Thursday include Soul Rebels Brass Band, George Porter, Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners, NOLA Nightingale Revue, Raw Oyster Cult, Bonerama, Chris Owens, Delfeayo Marsalis & The Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Harmonouche, Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
The festival is a showcase of Louisiana music with over 1,400 musicians spread out on over 20 stages. The festival runs from April 11-14.
Organizers have added the Chevron Evening Concert Series at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet and Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience as performers. See the complete list of performers.
Over its 30-year history, the event has grown from what was originally a neighborhood and locals' event into one of the largest music festivals in the United States. Last year's festival hosted over 574,000 visitors.
