MADISONVILLE, La. -- The Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office received lab results from the fire that burned down Friends Restaurant, a popular Northshore establishment, in August.
Investigators said the samples collected from the scene failed to produce a positive result for the presence of ignitable liquid residue.
The agency, however, says the investigation is continuing. Last month, Fire Marshal Butch Browning had called the fire “suspicious.”
The owner of the business broke ground on a replacement building last week.
