NEW ORLEANS -- Former state Representative Girod Jackson was arraigned in federal court Thursday and entered a not guilty plea to tax evasion charges. Jackson is expected to enter guilty plea.
Jackson resigned in August from the House of Representatives after being charged with federal tax fraud and failure to file tax returns.
U.S. District Court Judge Lance Africk set Jackson's bond at $25,000. Jackson is expected back in federal court on October 24 for his pre-trial hearing.
