NEW ORLEANS -- State Representative Austin Badon said Monday a private salvage company will begin removing submerged vehicles from Bayou St. John in hopes of finding clues about Terrilynn Monette, a missing Jefferson Parish school teacher.

There are reportedly more than 20 submerged cars and trucks in the waterway along City Park.

Monette was last spotted in her car on a traffic camera near City Park, turning from Harrison Avenue onto Marconi Drive after leaving a bar, Parlay’s Dream Lounge, in Lakeview on March 2.

The New Orleans Police Department will supervise the vehicle removal from Bayou St. John.
