NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans inspector general had kind words for a city agency in a letter detailing a good job they are doing.

Last week, Inspector General Ed Quatrevaux called the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport a "success story in New Orleans' fight against corruption."

The inspector general told aviation director Iftikhar Ahmad that his moves since 2009 to eliminate costly contracts had saved the city $25 million.

The airport has also reduced its fees charged to airlines, making it a more attractive place for them to operate.
