JEFFERSON PARISH, La. -- Councilman Chris Roberts will propose at  the next parish council meeting the parish returns red light camera fines to drivers who paid tickets.

The move comes amid ongoing issues with the company Redflex, including reports of alleged bribe taking in Chicago.

"I'm proposing to refund all fines in escrow considering the criminal investigation involving Redflex in Chicago," said Roberts.

Redflex is at the center of what could be Chicago's largest corruption investigation ever, after a probe of Redflex traffic systems found evidence of bribery, with more than $2 million allegedly paid to a Chicago official.

Saturday the president and two other top officials for Redflex announced they were retiring. Jefferson Parish pulled its contract with Redflex in 2010 amid allegations of bribery.
