BATON ROUGE, La. – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is blasting the decision by President Obama to exchange some Guantanamo prisoners for the freedom of U.S. soldier Bowe Berghadi, saying that by negotiating with terrorist groups the president is likely emboldening them.

Jindal took to Twitter to get his point across.

“I am personally gratified that Bowe Bergdahl is no longer being held by terrorists,” he tweeted Monday.  “That said, I completely disagree with the manner in which the Obama Administration achieved his freedom.”

Jindal said that refusing to negotiate with terrorists makes our citizens safer and that the “rap sheets” of the 5 “terrorists” released is not pretty.

“The President has swapped more than meets the eye here,” said Jindal. “He has swapped five terrorists who may kill again.

“The President has swapped the assurance that America will do the right thing, even when it is hard.”
