Jindal to speak on tax plan, legislative agenda at upcoming local meetings

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Gov. Bobby Jindal will make two appearances speaking before local groups in the coming weeks, with his tax plan expected to be high on the agenda.

On Thursday, March 28, he will speak at the annual Governor's West Bank Luncheon at the Alario Center in Westwego. Doors open at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30.

The cost is $40 per ticket. The event is organized by several West Bank lawmakers as well as the Harvey Canal Industrial Association, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry and the Algiers Economic Development Foundation. To buy tickets, call 504-361-6013.

The following week, on April 4, Gov, Jindal will be the featured speaker at the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce's Northshore Legislative Alliance luncheon.

That event, sponsored by the Northshore Business Council, will come just days before the legislative session begins.

It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tchefuncta Country Club. Tickets are $50 per person. Call 985-892-3216, ext. 4, for tickets.
