KENNER, La. – The Kenner Police Department has arrested and charged a woman with second-degree murder for giving heroin to another woman, resulting in her death.
According to police, on Oct. 23 police were called to 20-year-old Lana Marie Christina’s home in reference to an unresponsive female. Officers found 23-year-old Amber Hollis dead inside of the home.
An autopsy conducted by the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office later revealed that Hollis’ death was the result of “acute heroin toxicity.”
After obtaining the autopsy report this month, Cristina who initially denied knowing where Hollis obtained the heroin, admitted to detectives that she facilitated a drug sale and distributed heroin to Hollis before she died.
Cristina was charged with second-degree murder and transferred to the Jefferson Parish Correction Center where she remains in custody.
