NEW ORLEANS - Close to a dozen New Orleans-area museums, including the National World War II Museum and New Orleans Museum of Art, will offer free admission on Saturday, as part of Smithshonian Magazine’s annual Museum Day Live! promotion.
In addition to the World War II Museum and NOMA, other local museums offering free admission on Saturday include: Louisiana Children’s Museum, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Contemporary Arts Center, Hermann-Grima Historic House, Longue Vue House and Gardens and Historic New Orleans Collection.
Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a ticket at participating museums or cultural institutions. Last year’s event drew over 400,000 participants nationwide.
Patrons must print out a ticket from the Smithsonian website in order to receive free admission.
Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address.
