AVONDALE, La. -- Jefferson Parish detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Avondale, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato.
Around 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning, Jefferson Parish officers responded to a call of a person shot at 172 Travis Drive in Avondale, Fortunato said in a statement.
There, authorities found the victim, Sedrick Jones, 35, of Avondale, lying in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
While Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has no motives or suspects at this time, they did find several spent .40 caliber shell casings near Jones.
