Bags containing 20 milligrams of lortab each were confiscated by Tangipahoa Parish deputies Wednesday morning following the arrest of a man who engaged in a violent, verbal dispute with them, authorities said.

Deputies arrived to Lisa Drive and were told by a woman standing beside 37-year-old Titus Addison that Addison had taken her vehicle without permission and wrecked it, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports.

Addison aggressively approached Deputy Trey Toups with a closed fist and verbally threatened him, leading to the Hammond man’s detainment by deputies, Edwards said.

Authorities found the illegal narcotics after searching his front pockets, deputies said.

Edwards said Addison was transported to the parish jail and charged with disturbing the peace and possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II controlled dangerous substances.
