NEW ORLEANS -- Police arrested 25-year-old Justin McKey and booked him on two charges, manslaughter and hit and run causing serious injury or death, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office website.
Police, however, would not confirm if McKey's arrest was connected to the death of Officer Rodney Thomas who was struck and and killed an early Sunday morning hit and run on the highrise of Interstate-10.
McKey was arrested Monday and booked on the charges early Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff's office.
Police were searching for a white Porsche Panamera, which was the type of car they thought struck Thomas on the highrise. On Monday, a car matching the description was found inside a body shop around the block from NOPD Headquarters. The Porsche was then towed out of the Best of the Best Auto Shop in Mid-City.
