NEW ORLEANS - A 30-year-old Lakeview man died after running into an interstate guard rail, which caused his car to flip several times, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The single-car accident occurred around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday on I-610 Westbound just before the Saint Bernard Avenue entrance ramp.
The deceased was identified as Guy Greer by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.
Greer was traveling in a dark colored 2003 Toyota 4Runner when he lost control and struck the concrete guard rail, police said.
He was ejected from his car after it flipped multiple times, according to the NOPD. He was the only person inside of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the investigation is ongoing. The Orleans Parish coroner planned to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Westbound lanes were temporarily shut down after the accident.
