MARRERO, La. -- Jefferson Parish deputies are working a double shooting in Marrero that left a man dead.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Dimarco Drive before 7:30 p.m.

Deputies pronounced 39-year-old Tyrone Jenkins dead on the scene. The other victim, who has not yet been identified is in the hospital, where his condition is unknown.

Deputies haven't named a suspect or listed a motive.

The sheriff's office was alerted to the shooting by reports of gunshots, and when they were driving to Dimarco, they were flagged down at Westwood Drive and the Westbank Expressway where they found the still-alive victim. The body of the deceased victim was found in a courtyard at Dimarco.

A trail of blood led homicide investigators to believe that both victims were shot at the Dimarco location.

If you know anything that can help Crimestoppers, call 822-1111.
