ALGIERS, La. -- A man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Algiers, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The shooting happened near the intersection of Belleville and Slidell streets, near the Martin Behrman Elementary School.
The victim is described as a 34-year-old man. The victim was identified as Tyler Sims by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.
Police haven't named a suspect or a motive, but they say they're looking for a silver or gray 4 door Pontiac Grand Prix that fled the scene.
The after-school program was placed on lockdown after the shooting, but that has since been lifted.
