TANIPAHOA, La. – A McComb, Miss. man was killed in a one-vehicle crash after his car left the road on Interstate 55 and hit a tree, according to State Police spokesman Trooper Nick Manale.
Around 6 a.m. Saturday, Teddy Cornelius Jackson, 29, was travelling south on Interstate 55 near milepost 52, when, for reasons unknown, his car left the road and hit a tree, police said.
Jackson was taken to a hospital in Amite, where he died as a result of his injuries, police said.
“Jackson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol use is unknown at this time. A blood sample was taken from Jackson with analysis pending by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab,” said Manale.
