COVINGTON, La. -- Witnesses played a big role in capturing an armed robbery suspect in Covington Sunday morning.
According to Covington police, 30-year-old Michael Sorapuru allegedly robbed the Walgreens on Highway 190 using a screwdriver.
He demanded pain killer-type drugs and after getting them, forced employees to lay on the floor before fleeing.
A witness took down the license plate number on his white Cadillac Deville, and police were able to arrest him at his home in Abita Springs.
Sorapuru is facing armed robbery charges. Police say they're still considering charging him with other offenses as well.
