It's good news for the local economy that more businesses are calling New Orleans home, with big names like H&M and Tiffany and Co. being the latest to join the New Orleans family.
The New Orleans metro area has been named a top retail destination, and to help get holiday shoppers through the doors, local businesses are offering up some tasty incentives to shop local on Saturday.
It’s called Merriment on Magazine, and local stores will be opening up early on Friday and Saturday for holiday shoppers, but on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., get something you can’t get on Black Friday-- a holiday happy hour – shopping while sipping your favorite cocktail and eating some delicious holiday treats.
And the deals are great too, with a lot of boutiques, like Orient Expressed, are slashing prices for the holiday weekend, on everything from kid's clothes to fun Christmas decorations.
Deborah Vinson, owner of Orient Expressed says, “It's an easy, convenient shopping experience, and here at Orient Expressed we are prepared. We have great specials that we are going to run throughout the day on Black Friday and Black Friday only.”
And on Saturday, Magazine is ready for Small Business Saturday, “I think we have about 70 merchants that are opening their shops, serving wine, appetizers, and offering various specials for that evening, said Sam Farnet, President of the Magazine Merchants Association.”
The Holiday Happy Hour is Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and of course to find out more about upcoming holiday events on Magazine Street, visit their website, by clicking here.
