KENNER- The Kenner Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident that killed one man on Saturday morning.
Kenner Police say the crash happened around 4:40 a. m. at the intersection of Clay Street and Airline Drive.
Police say 40-year-old James Isom, of Metairie, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Clay St. heading towards the Airline Dr. intersection. Police say Isom disregarded the red light and at that time his vehicle became airborne and flipped over. The vehicle crashed into a utility pole. Isom was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say Isom was not wearing his seatbelt.
Police say a passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital. The passenger is listed in stable condition.
Police say driver error and speed are factors in the fatal accident.
