Delays in the creation of a new court-ordered system for managing off-duty details for New Orleans police officers are a major factor holding up the creation of a virtual crime-watch system in the Mid-City Security District, officials said this week.

District Chairman Jim Olsen said this week that the board plans to put out a public bid for a security camera system, but he’s hoping to incorporate it in conjunction with the security district, NOPD and Operation Clean Sweep, which offers graffiti removal systems in New Orleans.
